Dicas para livro 3 - Part II
The first irregular verb we study is the verb TO BE, that in the past changes to WAS/WERE.
Aff. | Jane WAS in London last month. | Aff. | Jane and Bob WERE in London last month. |
Neg. | Jane WASN’T in London last month. | Neg. | Jane and Bob WEREN’T in London last month. |
Int. | WAS Jane in London last month? | Int. | WERE Jane and Bob in London last month? |
We use WAS for I/he/she/it and we use WERE for you/we/they.
Don’t forget that the verb to be doesn’t need auxiliary in negative and in interrogative sentences, different from any other verb.
